About
A Massachusetts native, Dino Rowan is an alumnus of Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, MA. With passion for photography, video, and sculpture, Rowan has a diverse portfolio, often seeking to combine media.
Carrying on from his youth involvement in the Boston LGBT community, Rowan has fostered strong ties with his local communities, as he struggles with the realities of evolving and moving between them within his own transgender identity.
Rowan’s past work draws influence from the themes of community, identity, and community as identity. Rowan was inspired to create his most recent works during his studies at Ringling College of Art and Design upon reflecting on the differences between Southwest Florida and suburban Massachusetts.
In addition to his BFA studies at Montserrat College of Art, Dino Rowan also studied at the Art Institute of Boston (now LUCAD) in 2011 and Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida in 2014.
In 2016, Rowan placed in Mass Reality Check at Salem Film Fest, and has exhibited at Zephyr Gallery in Salem, MA and the Distillery Gallery in Boston, MA through the Boston LGBTQ Artist Alliance.
